The 9-12 class and the Middle School class of Alexandria Montessori School began a big project on August 29, 2011. They painted a huge map of the United States on the parking lot behind the school building.
Karen, the teacher of the 9-12 year olds, wanted to start the year off with a big project that would unify the students and create a great memory for students at our new location.
Simply put, "It worked," reported Karen. "The students are working together beautifully and are really enjoying themselves." This will be a day the students won't forget and it was a great way to learn the 50 states.
A walk to Graeter's ice cream shop after lunch sealed the deal!
